little earthquake thing (HILARIOUS COMMENTS)

Although I lived a quite interesting life as a child, I sometimes feel that I missed growing here in Egypt and sharing all the childhood experiences that my friends share...you know when you start singing the old commercials and talking about the games you played at school..

One big thing that I missed was the 1992 Earthquake..I really wish I was there to witness that one :D I was there at college when they started talkin abt their earthquake memories..everyone seemed to have a cute little story about the day, Ranya was drawing, Karim seemed to enjoy it!! while Enji -in the middle of everything- was trying to know what "earthquake" meant !!

I actually enjoyed the chat :D Why dont everyone post their earthquake memory down here...Where were you and what were you doing when Cairo shaked ?

I was 6 years old, 1st year in primary, writing down some homework while sprawling on my bed... Mum was in the same room just about to pray, once she said ALLAHU AKBAR... ping ping pang... parts of the ceilling were falling down... I saw my sister running out of the flat, a moment of madness, everybody asking what the hell that was...
we had an old woman in house for kids care, she was the one to announce ¨zelzaaaal¨ ending the debate with a new word just added to our vocabulary...
After things went calm, we looked over from the balcony to see the girls carried away wounded and bleeding so clearly... there was a secondary school by the street, I was very shocked, it wasn´t a movie! but the nice part we had to stay at home and didn´t go to school for about two weeks...
a week later, it was a Thursday evening, my cousing and sister were present with me listenning to Mum playing a classic music on her piano, once she began shalalala... there was another earthquake... it was felt more than the real cracker of Monday..., seems mum was involved in a connection!Days went by and we had consecutive earthquakes as normal rituals, I remember the one of 6 AM in 1996, it was so strong that made us wake up in panic...
anyway... thanks ya ahmed for sharing the experience...
